Why the Portuguese north?

Formed by mountains, villages, wineries, millennium-old bridges, shepherds and their herds as well as large metropolitan areas, the northern region of Portugal has great historical and cultural importance, housing Portugal’s birthplace during the 12th century.

We followed the journeys of two travel bloggers across the Portuguese north while they enjoyed their Hertz Campers experience. Their Jeeps were equipped with a rooftop tent allowing them to discover enchanted locales and experienced unique moments with their families.

Continuando À Procura is a family travel blog focused on sharing their experiences and discoveries while inspiring their readers.

In June of this year, its author, Carla Ferreira and her family set out to explore the North of Portugal in a campers vehicle, allowing them to camp in their preferred locations without having to make detours to hotels or Inns.

On her blog, we see that they discovered the Espírito Santo Viewpoint, the Palace of Breijoeira, the village of Castro Laboreiro and Melgaço as well as the imposing Fortress of Valença, which served as a military base during the Restoration War and French Invasions.

Wandering Life is a Portuguese travel blog written by Catarina who began her independent travels over 20 years ago, she now goes on trips with her family. Wanting to provide a unique traveling experience to her family, especially to little Maria, Catarina opted for a Campers Jeep by Hertz.

In July, she set out to discover Beira Baixa in a Campers vehicle, visiting the Santo António Convent, created in the 16th century with Franciscan architecture, as well as the walls of Castelo Branco.

The blog details the best way to reach each point as well as recommending the best stays and meals, serving as a guide for anyone wishing to visit the area. If you’re the type who’d rather avoid hotel stays, Campers allows you to camp out in the best locations!
