Is there a minimum rental period for Campers?
The minimum rental period is two days (48 hours).
What is the minimum age to rent a Campers car?
25 years for all car groups. Nevertheless, for drivers aged between 21 and 24 years, an extra Young Drivers Surcharge will apply.
What is the minimum advance period to book a Campers car?
Reservations must be made at least 72 hours in advance of the pick-up time.
What should I present at the time of car pick-up?
You must present your ID card, a driving license valid for at least 1 year and the credit card used to book the car online.
Can I cancel my booking for free?
Yes, you will be able to cancel your booking up to 72h in advance, free of charge. If the cancelation isn't made up to 72 hours in advance, a fee of 65 € will be applied.
What is the rooftop tent main features?
Our rooftop tents include a high-density foam mattress and mosquito netting on all windows. They are comfortable, resistant to rain and wind. They also provide an excellent 360º panoramic view and have an upper window to watch the stars.
Do the tents stand the whole weather conditions?
In Portugal, the mild climate allows the use of rooftop tents throughout the year. Our rooftop tents are prepared to resist the rain and the wind. To fill the coldest days, an extra sleeping bag will be helpful.
Additionally, these rooftop tents are technically developed and built to ensure protection from rain and winds up to 80 km per hour. However, we only recommend their use up to 50 km per hour.
Is there lighting inside the tent?
No. Although, you will be able to purchase the Camping Kit if you want to. This kit includes a sleeping bag, a pillow and a flashlight. To book this kit, you will have to indicate in the Step 4 of your online booking (“Observations” field), all the extras and respective quantities you want to include.
Are there any security measures available for the rooftop tent?
You will be able to add a padlock inside and outside the rooftop tent, to ensure an extra security when the rooftop tent is assembled (padlock is not included).
How many people can use these rooftop tents?
Our 2PAX Tent allows 2 adults or 1 adult + 2 children.
Our 3PAX Tent allows 3 adults or 2 adults + 2 children.
Where am I allowed to park the Campers car and what is the law regarding overnight?
Portugal has beautiful landscapes and offers a wide variety of private and public places where you can park. Choosing the best parking locations will be up to you and the amenities you wish to use, as long as you do not violate the road code and respect the protected areas.
As for legislation regarding overnight stays, the regulation will vary depending on the Municipality, which should always be taken into account.
Is it easy to assemble and disassemble the rooftop tent?
Yes, assembly and disassembly procedures are very easy - please check the video available on this page. During your rental, in case you have any technical queries, please call +351 915 679 947 (call to national mobile network) and a technician will help you.
Is the rooftop tent equipped with a mattress?
Yes, our rooftop tents are equipped with a 6cm thick mattress, with cotton cover.
Is the rooftop tent equipped with a sleeping bag?
No. Although, you will be able to add the Camping Kit which includes a sleeping bag, a pillow and a torch.
What does the Kitchen Kit include?
Our Kitchen Kit includes a camping stove, a gas cartridge, 2PAX camping cook set (1 stainless pan, 1 lid/strainer, 2 bowls, 2 cups and cutlery). You will be able to enjoy a meal nearby your Campers car with this kit.
Is the 20L Cooler electric?
No, it is a resistant and flexible Cooler, easily kept, that preserves its freshness for 7 hours without excessive ice.
What is the portable shower like?
It is a compact and portable shower with a 10L reservoir that allows you to take an outdoor shower with water heated by the sunlight.
Is there a specific mandatory deposit/fee to pick-up the Campers car?
At the time of pick-up, a 1.500€ deposit will be blocked on your credit card.
Are Campers SUV cars 2x4 or 4x4?
Campers cars are 2x4.
What is the available type of fuel for Campers cars?
Petrol or Diesel (subject to availability).
Is Air Conditioning, USB and Bluetooth available into Campers cars?
Campers cars ensure all the comfort, safety, connectivity and driving pleasure. These cars are equipped with air conditioning, USB and Bluetooth.
Can I rent a Campers car in a Hertz Airport Location?
Yes, you can. For your convenience, you can pickup and return your Campers vehicle in a Hertz location at Lisbon, Porto and Faro Airports. In case you rent your Campers car in on of these locations, an Airport Surcharge of 49,20€ will be charged.
